Introduction

The term 'Targetted Interventions (TI's) refers to intensive interventions with the populations which are highly vulnerable to HIV/AIDS like sex workers, street children, truckers, Injecting Drug Users (IDUs), migrant workers, Jail inmates etc. The approach is therefore to provide such services through NGOs closely working with the target population in an enabling environment.

Strategy

Multifaceted strategy is required to reduce the rate of transmission among the most vulnerable and marginalized population through services such as-

Behaviour Change Communication
Counselling
Condom Services
STD Services
Enabling Environment

Situation in M.P.

Intervention projects are proposed to be taken up at most of the locations where high risk groups reside, like Dhaba's on Highways, Industrial Areas, Pockets of CSWs, Areas of Migrant populations etc.

M.P. State AIDs Control Society is empowered to provide funding support to NGO's for TI Projects. Detailed guidelines has been formulated for shortlisting of NGO's and their training and orientation in TI's.

The Targeted Interventions are being monitored and evaluated to ensure that the maximum impact is created at the grassroot level.

Interested NGO's for TI projects working in the field of Health/Women Empowerment/ Community Development can submit their proposals to MPSACS along with details like Registration Certificate ( 3 Year Old), audited statement of last 3 years ( Certified by CA), annual progress report of last 3 year , infrastructure and the man power, self assessment report etc.
