Opportunistic Infection (OI) in AIDS patient:

In the absence of a reliable treatment for HIV/AIDS, Clinical Management efforts are directed towards aspects such as treatment of Opportunistic Infections.
Most of these Opportunistic Infections are curable if effective therapy is initiated promptly.
Drug for a majority of these Opportunistic Infections are being provided free of cost to the patients in Govt. Health Care settings in Madhya Pradesh.

Opportunistic Infection Profile :

1. Tuberculosis (64% of AIDS patients have T.B.)
2. Candidiasis.
3. Chronic Diarrhoea.
4. Cryptococcal Meningitis.
5. Herpes
6. Lymhoid Interstial Pneumonia
7. AIDS Dementia Complex
8. Toxoplasmosis
9. Kaposi's Sarcoma
10. P.C.P.(Pneumocytis Carini Pneumonia)
